Wildlife Photos  April 2022

I always wanted to be a wildlife photographer, but I don’t have the patience.  I greatly admire photographers who post wildlife photos, especially flighty birds, which are hard to catch.

Occasionally, I have been lucky, such as the time I spotted a turtle walking across the ring as I was riding my horse.  I jumped off and took pictures with my iPhone.  My horse thought I was crazy, but I was very pleased.

I saw a beautiful swan at Avalon Park in Stony Brook, NY.

I also spotted some geese at a Heckscher Park in Huntington, NY

Well, I had my best wildlife sighting this month.  I was driving home and spotted a big bird in the middle of my street ahead of my car. I drove slowly, opened my window, and grabbed my cell phone.

It was a red-tailed hawk, who had just caught a snake, on the road ahead of me.  I took a few pictures, as I slowly passed by in my car, while praying another vehicle would not startle the hawk, and then I headed home.

  1. Joann this is very well written with fabulous photos. There is still time to change your career, you’re very good .

  2. Great little essay with nice shots of course. Was this published or is it your computer entry only? It should be published with nice, large photos! They are so good!
