Old Bethpage Restoration Village Nov. 2020

I went for a walk with a friend at the village on a stunning fall day. Due to the pandemic, the park had limited capacity and with what seemed like more museum staff than visitors, it no longer seemed that we were still living in the present day world.

We learned about how they made cloth using the loom, how to construct hats, and enjoyed visiting the general store.

My friend liked the turkeys, so I titled her the “turkey whisperer”.  There is a nice variety of farm animals to visit.

It is a fun trip to do with a family before Thanksgiving to make you thankful for our modern conveniences. We are lucky to have indoor plumbing, electricity and our appliances, especially since we are staying home so much in the pandemic.
