Just once, I would like to be on a Zoom call where everyone already knew how to use Zoom and I am not looking at someone else’s ceiling the whole time!

I’m god at making friends. It’s a useful skill to have. But a pandemic is a hard situation be to meet people and still be socially distancing. I miss going out to meet new people at meals and meetings, as well as seeing old friends and giving them a hug.
Despite this situation, I have two or three new friends (are we counting dogs?). My first new friend is a virtual one, my Zoom yoga teacher Michele. I know she has a good heart and that she will be surprised how tall I am when she stands next to me in person for the first time.
My next new friend is my neighbor Dan and his dog, Honey. I have met lots of new neighbors, mostly ones who own and walk their dogs. But this pair have become true friends that I see on a regular basis.
I have also met some of my mom’s neighbors, when I walk at her street where I grew up. Her street has less dogs and dog walkers, but she has lived there a long time and knows everyone. I take pictures of the neighbor’s flowers while she talks to them and catches up on the news.
