Too Much Bad News
I now have a love/hate relationship with the news and television.
I love the following:
- The routine of watching TV in a time of uncertainty
- News about people being kind
- Stories of patients who are recovering
- Cute kids and animal videos
I hate the following:
- Stories about hoarding and gun purchases
- Politicians arguing while people are suffering
- That it is supposed to be MLB’s planned opening day but there are no games or other sporting events on the news
- Stories of how the virus is quickly spreading
- How people are lined up for tests and assistance but there is not enough of anything to help them
- When they tell us who has passed away
- That our country was unprepared for a pandemic
Sometimes you put on a familiar television show to relax a bit and the next thing you know the news breaks in, and the stress kicks up a notch before you have even realized that your show is no longer on anymore.
Sad times. Looking forward to getting a hug. Whenever that is.
