Before the pandemic, I wrote work-related magazines articles about safety, schools, and playgrounds. I enjoyed writing, but I considered it a skill, and I never really thought of myself as “a writer”.
Once the pandemic came, I started a blog to stay in touch with friends and family on this blog and I share my photos, in a monthly challenge titled, WHERE AM I?
Next, unexpectedly, I started working on a children’s book. After all, we all have an abundance of unscheduled time to fill up with our new interests.
Recently, a friend suggested that I buy a t-shirt that says, “THIS COULD BE IN MY NOVEL”. Then, another friend gave me a fancy pen and pretty notebook. When I opened this gift, I realized that she thought of me as a writer, but more importantly, I was grateful for her gift, because it allowed me to embrace and own this title for myself.
Joann I do believe you are a writer. You have so much to offer. Ask yourself, “What do I deeply care about?” Then decide what you want to write. You can’t go wrong here. Write in a journal, write some short stories, write for magazines and start your novel. You can do it.
Your playful friend.
